my dad was just married and working as a mechanic in Wichita Kansas. Not doing too well financially they decided to drive to Kansas city to see about the job market. On the way there they ran across a broken car. Dad stopped had his tools with him as he always did and fixed the car. The guy ended up being the vice president for TWA. He was so impressed that he told dad to stop in when they get to Kansas city. Well he did and was hired as a mechanic. This was when TWA was in its infancy. Only had DC-2 and DC-3's Ended up with over 40 years working his way up to managerial status with TWA and had a rewarding career.
